Good to hear! It was a dig at all people who purchase vinyl and don't have a record player (unless they're in the process of buying one).

But I still haven't opened this new vinyl, so I guess I'm becoming a hipster sniggering

I like that the LP is mastered at a relatively low volume -- when I put on an old Stranglers LP right after the Godflesh the other day, the Stranglers record was noticeably louder at the same volume on the stereo. A lot of LPs these days are mastered as loud as cds, and end up sounding kind of crappy as a result when you turn them up. The new Godflesh just gets fuller and more powerful with more volume.

you can have my project if you ever visit massachusetts, or if you want to pay shipping, chris.

i'm too dumb to dick around with the counter-balance weight and all that jazz. i found an old used sony for $30 that works beautifully for me.

although if i believe things i've read in vinyl forums, i'm gouging the fuck out of my records not using a turntable that you have to balance yourself.

SO BE IT

I'm super duper late to the party, as I just got the album and am now giving it a proper listen. I heard it once before at work, but it was on small speakers in a noisy environ, so I didn't really get the full NANG of it.

First thing I noticed is that it sounds tremendous. The guitars and bass are massive and the drums and vocals are intermixed really well.

Unfortunately, only a few of the songs really stand out to me. I like Life Giver Life Taker, Imperator, and Forgive Our Fathers is a beast.

On the plus side, there's nothing bad on here, so I have a feeling this album's a grower (not a shower).
