Halfway through Mr Robot. Like the way the tech stuff is pretty realistic for a change. Story is decent enough. Well worth a watch. |
Totally agree about Ray Donovan...I have been trying to tell that twonk Josh this for quite some time now...but he won't listen cause well.....he's a twonk...

Hahah I think you might be right...he is doing amazing work though...for someone in their mid 70s he is doing really strong work...very in the moment...he deserves an award of some sort... |

South Park is still going strong, and Rick and Morty is possibly the best cartoon on tv currently. |

Finished Mr Robot.
I enjoyed it but not sure where it's gonna go.
Felt like a rip off of Fight Club at the end.
Decent show though. Well worth a watch. |

The only show that still managed to be relevant after 19 seasons.
Rick and Morty is fantastic too though. |

There's nothing that displeases me more than admitting DoomBride is correct about, well, ANYTHING.
Except come to think of it, doing the same for the Austro-Glaswegian. Or Kraut Boy. Or the long-departed TIM.
But anyway.....
I finally started to watch Ray Donovan and I'm 5 episodes into the first season.... Fucking great shit! Really interesting characters, and I never knew Liev Schreiber could play such a convincing bad ass. I can't wait to see where the show goes and I'm psyched I have 2.5 more seasons of it to enjoy. |

The latest season of American Horror Story is fucking awful. Vampires?? Really?? And Lady Gaga can't act for toffee. Blindspot is also pretty bad. Time to give up on them. |

Just finished season 2 of Les Revenants. Just as good as S01, weird, confusing, moving and that fantastic soundtrack by Mogwai.
Also, Show me a hero, for those people needing a Wire fix. Siperb stuff as usual. |

Jesus, there's been a bit of a lull in quality TV shows for the last few months.
REALLY enjoyed Jessica Jones and season 2 of Gotham.
Making A Murderer - great doc despite the stuff they left out both for and against the protagonists.
Started season 2 of The Affair and gave up after about 4 episodes. |

Some new shows started..
Blindspot. Possibly the worst show I've ever seen.
Hap and Leonard. Has a Justified feel to it, really enjoyed the first episode.
Animals. Not very funny.
Baskets. Enjoying this, weird as hell in places
American crime. Not bad, but could do with lightening up.
Older: Todd and the book of pure evil. Very funny. |

Stranger Things.
it's a guided missile of nostalgia totally aimed at a generation raised on Stephen King books and Spielberg films--and for me it worked.
I have a a contingent of "cranky old men" friends (so dubbed by my wife) who see it as a lazy remix of much better material, all style and reference, etc. I can understand their points, but i don't care. it was fun. |

i also recently watched a long string of grisly detective shows. I can't remember one from another now as I watched too many in a row--but I recall the lovely settings--Iceland, France, Wales to name a few.
After a string of a couple of weeks of these, I had a dream which was notable for being "filmed" just like any one of them.
the view faced the killer at a sink and behind him a detective--who doesn't know it's the killer he's after-- asking questions. the killer nonchalantly answers while feeding small 1" chunks of his latest victim into the sink's garbage disposal.
ha. it wasn't from any of the shows, but apparently the vibe had set in the ol' brain. I figured it was time to read a book or go outside. |

Keep hearing about Stranger Things...need to check in to ti...
Currently loving:
Mr Robot(serious paranoia)
Vice Principals(totally demented comedy)
Ray Donovan(great show all around, every aspect of it...John Voight should get every award imaginable)
Sex Drugs and Rock n Roll(light fun)
The Night Of...(gripping,compelling,disturbing drama)
Ballers(only watching because I did some work on it and it is all filmed in Miami) |

i need to see that Vice Principals--looks pretty great--keep seeing the ads before The Night Of...
which is totally compelling and disturbing like you say. might i add stressful. that first episode, i felt like i need to have a drink to relax afterwards. i'm thankful for the bit of low-key humor turturro brings into it. |

Just finished watching Stranger Things & Preacher. Both fantastic new shows. New seasons of Ray Donovan & Mr Robot are living up to expectations.
I too must give ‘The Night Of..’ a go. I have only heard good things. Thanks for reminding me Doomy. |

I'll have to have a go at Preacher. I recall friends being into the comic some time ago--actually now that i think of it, it might have been 15 or 20 years ago or so. eeek.
speaking of ST---I'm going to gloat now about the cool print i have coming. i manned my computer like a nasa flight engineer to make sure i nabbed one as it was a limited release.
