About time!

Ministry - Rio Grande Blood
5IVE - versus
My Dying Bride - 34,... % Complete
Anthrax - Taking The Music Back EP
Khoma - Second Wave

and tons of other crap because I finally turned my iRiver to shuffle-mode. It has an obvious liking for Killing Joke which suits me just fine.

On CD:
You Should Have Slain Me - You Should Have Slain Me
More fucked-up avant-metal from Campbell Kneale/Battlecruiser: the same thrash guitar riff repeats constantly for about 10 minutes before a classic death/thrash double-bass drum loop kicks in for the last 10 minutes. Like Terry Riley does Slayer.

On MP3:
I've been digitising some elderly tapes:
Dr & The Crippens - Peel Session
Extreme Noise Terror - 2nd Peel Session
Lionrock - Straight At Yer Head EP (including storming Jeff Mills remix of "Packet of Peace")
Mighty Force - Dive EP
Various late 80s thrash/HC/proto-grunge stuff ranging from Lipcreem to Slammer (remember them?).

Meaty, what's the Maiden like? The single wasn't any good in my opinion.

I like it - pretty strong songs. It grows on you too - songs that you thought were average the day before become better and better. Probably the best album that they have put out in 20 years. Worth a listen ...

This week's purchases.

CSS - Cansei De Ser Sexy

Post punk electro funk in a Delta 5 & Chicks on Speed kinda way.

Daughters - Hell Songs

Like The Birthday Party and The Jesus Lizard without the songs. Still like it.

Envy - Insomniac Doze

Sounds like Isis, Pelican, Mono, Explosions In The Sky & Mogwai. Might be the last post rock album I buy in a while. Nice but I've heard it all before too many times now.

Been going through a bit of a Chris Connelly phase, so that's meant Damage Manual, classic Ministry/RevCo/etc, and his solo stuff - mainly the fantastic Blonde Exodus.

Also Final - 3 and the new Melvins.

Made out of Babies - Coward and Trophy
Trojan Dub box
Frontline Dub collection
Jesu - Silver +2 (thanks JMA) minus Star. Fuckin Horrible. The +2 makes it a better ep IMO. Those versions are great. Especially Wolves.
Jesu - Heart Ache
Therapy? - B sides
Barkmarket - L Ron
Ice Cube - the Predator
Merle Haggard - Box set

@bankrupt - Connelly's solo stuff is great. Shipwrecked and Blond Exodus in particular. Have you heard the Live disc he just put out?

Hey...someone mentioned in that now-defunct "+2" thread (thanks JMA once again!) that the mix on "Silver - orginal beats" reminds him of some area of Orb...

What were those two albums (or songs or EP's?) mentioned...I'm curious about giving them a try, I understand it's still not close to jesu, but I've been meaning to investigate Orb more anyway.

Or was it even Orb? whaa
