The Wire review was not so bad but it pointed out the obvious: with the viola out and the guitar in, the band is just yet another power-trio out there. I'm afraid I have to agree with Decalaced and Patchie, the album, while not bad by any standard, is not as good as the first two. But I definitely wouldnt want to miss them playing live if I by any chance lived in the UK....

I suppose I should clarify what I said - it's not a bad album at all, but I was all up for going to see them in Liverpool, and I suppose I shouldn't pass up the opportunity to go and see a good band here, where good bands rarely visit, it's just that some other things have come up that *may* stop me going and I won't lose any sleep (figuratively speaking) over missing them like I might have done a few months ago.
(phew, that was a long sentence!)
Although, if I have the money when the date comes around I'll be there, but it's like, five days before I get paid and we all know that's the horrible inbetween time when no-one can go anywhere!
Speedwolf, clearly you have much more emotional investment in Noxagt than I do, so, um, to me saying 'just another power-trio' is kinda self-explanatory and actually a fair way of describing Noxagt's current sound (at least on record). Neither The Wire review said it's a bad album nor I think it's a bad album, au contraire, it's pretty decent just not as original or as catchy as their first two albums, at least to these ears. But, as I said, I'd be very glad to see them live if there was a chance, so nitpicking on album reviews and matters of personal taste here is simply a waste of time. Yours, of course, my time is worhtless anyway, heh heh heh.
