Not too into the new album.
I preferred them with the viola.

Same here.
I'm gonna miss them, but since I heard the new stuff I'm not too bothered.

New album kicks ass! It's just slight change of direction - they took the viola thing as far as they could.

I've seen 'em twice with Anders Hana on guitar - absolutely fantastic! Quite Godflesh-y actually. HEAVY!

And The Wire gave the album a bad review. So what's not to like, haha.

The Wire review was not so bad but it pointed out the obvious: with the viola out and the guitar in, the band is just yet another power-trio out there. I'm afraid I have to agree with Decalaced and Patchie, the album, while not bad by any standard, is not as good as the first two. But I definitely wouldnt want to miss them playing live if I by any chance lived in the UK....

And, the work Hana does in MoHa! is excellent!!!!

I don't get the "just another power trio" at all!? That Wire review was just another lazy artsy statement (without actually saying anything at all).

To me Noxagt have got more in common with Melvins, High On Fire and all that stuff. They're a kick ass rock n roll band...

the gig in Bournemouth looks like a good one.. Ive gigged with Sunshine Republic before.. they're a pleasant group of lads.. good band too..

... I'll be trying to get down to the Newcastle show but I've already promised a mate I'll be at their gig.. so looks like it could be a busy night...

I suppose I should clarify what I said - it's not a bad album at all, but I was all up for going to see them in Liverpool, and I suppose I shouldn't pass up the opportunity to go and see a good band here, where good bands rarely visit, it's just that some other things have come up that *may* stop me going and I won't lose any sleep (figuratively speaking) over missing them like I might have done a few months ago.
(phew, that was a long sentence!)
Although, if I have the money when the date comes around I'll be there, but it's like, five days before I get paid and we all know that's the horrible inbetween time when no-one can go anywhere!

Speedwolf, clearly you have much more emotional investment in Noxagt than I do, so, um, to me saying 'just another power-trio' is kinda self-explanatory and actually a fair way of describing Noxagt's current sound (at least on record). Neither The Wire review said it's a bad album nor I think it's a bad album, au contraire, it's pretty decent just not as original or as catchy as their first two albums, at least to these ears. But, as I said, I'd be very glad to see them live if there was a chance, so nitpicking on album reviews and matters of personal taste here is simply a waste of time. Yours, of course, my time is worhtless anyway, heh heh heh.

ja. they are playing Cardiff but I think I would get bored pretty fast of them. I know they are not like Isis but when Isis played here my tits rotted with the boringness of it all.

Few bands can be noisey and entertaining:
Swans, godflesh and sunn o))), MBV and Slayer (maybe)

noxagt just are not magical enough. no Disney/graveyard.
