Nope. He works like 2 days a week as a janitor now and just sits on his days off being bitter that Justin and Ben (and everyone else hes ever worked with) actually make music people wanna hear for a living..

...

@ desu evol re:2000 posts, just finished grad school so I actually have some time to breathe and rediscover this interest on the nostalgia tip,

@monotremata
never known of Harris to have anything negative to say about Ben, or anyone to have anything negative to say about Ben for that matter.

otherwise, like I said I'll defend his discography but not the conduct. white irises blind 10" FTW

If scorn is over I'm sure Harris is spending a good bit of time fishing on the river. he used to crosspost emails sent by these people trying to crawl up his arse to gain river access to his primo river reaches, totally hilarious. some of that shit was just as funny and as abominably scathing and cutthroat as the dubthreats that used to grace this site. hahaha

p.s. I was "this" close to getting a vinyl test pressing of logghi barogghi in trade...damn... now that would've been a record!!!

It's nothing to do with Justin. Mick is well known round here for posting nasty personal attacks at people he previously worked with.

Well it's got a little to do with Justin. Mick was disappointed (bitterly) about a couple of incidents involving Justin, that left a very sour taste in his mouth. But he really should let it go for the sake of his own health and well-being. He is the first to admit he's a hater and an angry guy and has trouble letting things go (and yes not just about Justin). Not excusing him and it doesn't make it right, it's just what it is. Deeply talented, but troubled guy.

Yes, Combat is still going.
You should also check out Fausten which is Stormfield (who runs Combat) together with Monster X. You might like their stuff.

Daymare has the release date of Oct. 8th with the obligatory bonus disc. Will probably be killer. Will definitely be ordered. Decline and Fall is amazing and I look forward to hearing this. As usual, I'm not listening to any of it til it's in my hands.

A World Lit Only By Fire

And as usual google translate is amazing.

'AWLOBF' will be one vinyl, since the album is 50 minutes in length we can easily fit it on one vinyl and still sound great and not be to expensive to purchase! Japanese edition on Daymare is 2xCD and will have 3 bonus dubs of LP songs on the 2nd CD, much like the hidden dubs of 'Decline & Fall' EP on the Bandcamp digital (hidden) and the Daymare EP edition.

'AWLOBF' on the Godflesh Bandcamp will again also have these dubs as hidden songs on the digital version only. At Avalanche will have a pre-order up in Sept. for the limited quantities that we will carry ourselves

Just in case you guys haven't seen JKB's FB post. So again, if you order the vinyl or CD from him on bandcamp you will also get the bonus Japanese songs included in the digital download Very Happy

We will have limited copies of the new GODFLESH LP, on vinyl and CD available at our store on the day of release Oct 6th, every sale will come with the digital free which inc. 22 minutes of bonus dubs, and of course the digital can be bought alone too. Buying the digital directly from us on Bandcamp will be the only way of having these dub versions outside of the Japanese 2xCD release on Daymare.

And for all you hipsters, Hydra Head are releasing it on cassette too.

i'm not jazzed by them, but i've flipped flopped enough on GF albums that I initially did not like, which is all of them after Pure, so i'll hold off on any strong opinion until I've had a chance to really hear the album. probably will buy the download and then see if it convinces me to go for the vinyl.

Woah - Forgive Our Fathers is massive.

Quite enjoyed the rest, but that one really stood out for me...I'm a sucker for 'epic' so I really like it when JKB allows the tracks to stretch out a bit (see Jesu S/T).

You know what - I'm actually not going to listen to it.
I want to absorb the whole thing when it hits the Avalanche store (presumably 2 weeks after everyone else has got it).

I've listened to the album a bunch of times now and it's brilliant.
I'm getting a serious techno influence from it in the structures and repetativity on a lot of the tracks. Something about the way he's using the hi-hats in the drum programming too.
Love it. Bleak and relentless and interestingly a load of new guitar tones compared to old GF too.
It's different and a proper return. Does it for me (but then I love Hymns too Cool )

I have to say I'm not too keen on this super limited bullshit I'm seeing on bandcamp. I got on a fucking airplane to see these guys they last time they played over here. limited edition of 50? I just got home and the XLs are gone.

the shirt is cool, it could be better. it's official. I like to support godflesh and bands I like directly when possible. but c'mon man there needs to be more than 50 of a shirt available for a preorder.... if everyone knew about the preorder those shirts wouldn't be 1/16th of enough for nyc or any of the major markets.

probably no need for me to blow a head gasket but it kinda pisses me off, the overseas shipping is pretty rich for my blood, their should be more of the shirt available.

I think I may have traveled the furthest to see Godflesh play live than most on this board... Australia to France for the Hellfest 2010 show.

Although others may grumble about that show, I enjoyed it... but watching the generators blow up during the young gods set just before they went on did make me a little nervous about traveling so far to see a band!
