Yes.

Great album, much better than the last. Def a grower. Shades of Democracy and Thousand Suns. Can't wait to see them in January!

Best KJ album since the second self titled album for me. I'm hearing bits of Extremities in there myself.

2 disc version is well woth picking up.

Absolutely great. Better than the last one and "Hosannas".

No German dates yet, unfortunately...

Don't you think that many of the songs could be shortened considerably, though? And that it would be nice for a change not to have everything in the mix so compressed that the whole thing is awash in static? The last three albums sound like they were mixed and mastered by a deaf person.

That said, the second disc in the Deluxe Edition is definitely worth spending that extra little bit.

Enjoying this, definitely one of the better albums, but agreed that some of the production is murky. Works better on high volume. Sorry neighbours!

Yes. That is my main problem with the album. That and the first track kinda stinks. I think the sound, squashed as it is, suits the material.

This is def better than the last but not nearly as great as Absolute Dissent.

Yeah the squashed sound is nothing new for KJ and I think it works in it's favor also...I like this one better than the last 3...at this point I am just hoping they don't cancel Miami...

Paul's drumming certainly sounds better/more tribal than it has since they've regrouped.

I've noticed that they've often had a different drummer for their live sets over the past couple of years -- maybe knowing that he won't have to wear himself out bashing away every night on a full tour has freed Paul up to play proper tribal beats in the studio? And then they bring in the younger guy for live work?

I'm enjoying this album quite a bit so far, hard to tell where it sits in the pantheon yet, though. The last album I really loved top to bottom was 2003's self-titled.

I saw Paul play with them live maybe 4 years ago and I thought his drumming was the weakest link, he seemed to be lagging behind the beat and bringing the energy down. I saw them again on the greatest hits tour they did maybe a couple of years ago and the drumming sounded much better, although I must confess I don't recall who was behind the kit that night.

The KJ tour next year with Soft Moon opening will be fucking epic!

Eeek I hope Paul is with them when they come through here in January. Probably going by myself so I might spring for the $100 meet and greet ticket, if for nothing else so I can meet Mr Walker.

Bought Pylon last week and Amazon just shipped it to me this morning those fuckers. Thank god for the internet in the meantime.

Well its not the shipping part, theres distribution centers all over down here so Ill more than likely have it in another day or two, its that they took like 5 days to actually ship it! Last disc I ordered, A World Lit Only By Fire got here quick as hell and shipped the very next day. Maybe it was an off week or something who knows..

The last time they came through I was surprised by how strong Paul's drumming was, though I couldn't see him because the club was small and had a low stage. But when he stood up, it wasn't Paul -- and that explained why the drumming was so strong!

FINALLY got my Pylon 2 disc today. A week and a half or so after it was shipped. Thanks, Amazon.....anywho, I like it a bunch. Definately worth getting the two disc. Yeah, the songs are a bit long, but that's like complaining about having too much sex. Cry Me a River, Britney! I'm gonna do everything in my power to see KJ on this tour probably in Salt Lake City. They have a VIP meet and greet option too.....hmmmm chimp baby flaming guitar bunny bounce :funkymonkey:

I absolutely love the album and I'm not sure why the tracks on disc 2 were left off the main album. It's true as has been mentioned earlier the first track is sort of the worst, I tend to skip it.

My only gripe is the same problem I had with some of their other material - the last tracks in particular have what I call my Killing Joke Dancing Problem.

The problem runs thus: how do I dance to this? The drums are doing a four/four thing which would facilitate dancing (you'll have to bear with me as I'm not au fais with music terminology), however if you listen to what the riffs are doing, the snare drum appears to be on the 'off-beat', if you get what I mean, which I'm guessing comes from their punk background?? So am I dancing to this on the snare or in the bit in between (which seems to facilitate what the riff is doing more) - is this making sense to anyone?? Or is it supposed to not matter too much?? It catches me off guard quite a bit. It does tend to bug me and I hope someone here knows what I'm dithering on about Smile

For fuck sake just dance and be done with it, and stop trying to analyse the shit out of everything...It is what it is

Finally got around to listen to this album.
Don't like it at all.

I should really give up on them.

I do like it. But I need more listens to decide if it's a really good album, or just the average KJ.
