Godflesh mixed it up last night in Stockholm. Really good show!

Last night in Gothenburg it was mixed up a bit. I had quite a bit to drink so two songs (#4 and 9) may be wrong and I'm certain I'm missing one more at the end. They played songs from albums in sequence...4/1/3/3 from Streetcleaner/Post Self/Pure/Selfless so I know I'm missing one but I can't figure it out. Age + beer = memory issues.

First time seeing them in 22 years. Wow.

Agreed. They should incorporate more Post Self live materials.

I still love Post Self with a vengeance Doomie my old son, but 'Predominance' for me just does something. Not sure what though

That's kind of surprising given how enthusiastically the crowd responded to the Post Self material when I saw them. But they'd been playing that set for quite a while, so maybe they just needed a change-up.

Yeah but is Like Rats and Christbait Rising really the change up he wants? Dint get me wrong I love those songs but they seem like the perennial "crowd favorites" at this point...

Yes... Like Rats and Christbait Rising great as they are, but it's all very contrived.

It's like he'd dare not NOT play them now...

They opened with the two songs.

Tough to follow if those are your 'perennial crowd favorites' though.

Predominance was really quite a nice surprise. Wish I could remember the full list.

They have started with those 2 songs many many times...almost every time I've seen them since their reformation....not complaining...its a helluva way to start a show...was just surprised to see him sort of abandon the Post Self stuff so quickly...

So...it wasn't abandoning Post Self actually. Justin told me today that since it had been over 24 years since playing in Sweden and Denmark that they opted for a classics/best of set. That explains the sudden shift.

Not complaining. I haven't kept up with them so old stuff > new material for me. Smile
