Who's going?

Thanks to Ryanair this trip will not be very expensive at all. Had a great time seeing them in Dec '04...

Probably the flight there and back will not be more than 60 euros for me.

Buy tickets here: http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e%7Cartist=NEUROSIS&resultsperpage=20&filler1=see - They cost 20 pounds (about 30 euro).

It's the only Europe show as far as I know. I guess they're raising money for the upcoming recording of the new record in December.

I'd rather appreciate it if they raised some of their money here in german once again. Fuckers! Last german dates were 1999 if I remember correctly.

I would give them MY money for sure.

1999 was also the last time I saw them live...
But my interest went a bit down since the Jarboe and the 'Eye...' records...
Let's see what they prepare for the next album (recording is planned in December if I'm not mistaking...).

I've already taken a bashing for this on another board.

I've seen Neurosis 3 times. The most recent show was when they played London last year. I have said it a number of times repviously but I seriously cannot believe how much people hold that gig up as an "amazing" show. To put it bluntly they were boring, flat and far less entertaining than the 2 occassions where I saw them in front of a much reduced crowd in a smaller venue some year previously.

Also, the majority of people are derogatory abut the part of the set that was done with Jarboe, it was the best bit as far as I'm concerned!

So, I'm sure people are going to get the hump with me here as well but going on the last show I personally will not be making the trip to London for this gig, neither do I hold out much expectation for the new record considering that "The eye..." was a poor and watered down "ASTNS".

I saw Neurosis a few times, and the 1st time was the best (Through silver in blood tour, with Unsane opening!)... I don't think i would check them out again, unless they tour with some interesting bands (Neurosis/Jesu/Monotremata? i'd go!)

Mad arrrrrr (says the chinese angry man)

i saw them towards the end of the last century, around 93/94 in Cork, not sure. They were touring with Enemy of the Sun, was a good show. They've been back to ireland a few times since then but I never made the journey to Dublin

likewise, ive had relatively diminishing returns from the 3 times i've seen them (tsib, tog, last london show) but still much to enjoy (esp. see-thro jarboe!). really it just reflects the amount of enjoyment from their albums, older=better, without a doubt locust star got the biggest reaction at the last show. I also won't bother with this show but hold out some (little) hope that they may grace us with a return and a more northern show once their new stuff is out

Fuck its the Forum with its fucking shitty sound.

Worse big venue in London.

If they weren't playing there I would go.

Jesus Fuck I'll be there. That sounds like a likely place for a euro avalanche meeting after all.

Is this the Finnish Circle? I've got a few of their albums, I'd be more than curious to see them live.

Don't know if it is the Finnish Circle but seeing the rest of the program, I think the chance is pretty big.

Yes, it would be that CIRCLE (their 'side project' PHAROAH OVERLORD are playing too): they're great live - usually a 2 song set...
and fantastic dress-sense...

Roadburn; C u there Avo (and others)...

Must say that ever since Neurosis incorporated those silly "fragile" Tom Waits vox into their music, they really don't cut it for me any more. It's even worse than the (not very subtle) screaming they did before, imho. Their sound is really beautiful though. We can only wish they decide to go instrumental, or hire Gira. (Jarboe didn't really help either).

Om, Circle, Growing, Thrones.. great line-up

Especially. AmenRa are brilliant live, heavy psychedelic droning noise-rock.

Nice to see you here a3k. Roadburn should be fun. especially if elrrek can make it, too.

Speaking of amenra. I am now trying fpr weeks to check out their stuff on myspace but for some reason the sire wont play any music for me. grrrrrr....
Does anyone else have this problem?

Shame Neurosis are playing at The Forum. The sound is always really bad in that venue. The Scala would have been much better.

Totally agree. I've actually written off the Forum as a venue worth going to.
