i agree... i really am enjoying the hell out of this... i love all the layers and the great balance between harsh and soft tones.

I agree wholeheartedly, I agree with the review statement about how iroha is better than the later jesu releases.

Same here with the heavy rotation...Every time i hear it a different song will jump out at me... Right now "Reminisce" & "Iroha" are the faves.
It's not often i'll play an album straight thru weeks after the release.

It's weird people i know who hate jesu love iroha. It seems to be much happier and poppier according to some friends ive played the record to. In fact a girl i was working with who normally has a go at me for playing jesu in the car actually sat and listened to the whole iroha album.

Really glad to hear that you guys are liking it. We seem to be mid-way between metal and 'heavy-pop' which seems to throw some reviewers slightly. We don't appear to be metal enough for some metal magazines but we're too noisy for a lot of the rock reviewers. "Like My Bloody Valentine on heaps of downers..." is one of my favourites Very Happy

For me it's more comparable to early Jesu than anything else. It fits right in with "Conqueror" and "Silver". It has an edge that Jesu lost since "Pale Sketches". It's ok that JKB has explored more poppy and cheesy territories. It's just that it's a direction that I really can't follow.

I'm enjoying the relase a lot. My heavy rotation at home at the moment is the Iroha/Fragment, Iroha s/t, new Crowbar and ENT's "Holocaust...".

"Love Jesu but this sound takes it even deeper." that was from a friend of mine who's a reviewer. Im not sure if he's going to review it yet. I'll keep you posted.

Missed this on the board somehow but just noticed the dates on Facebook.
I'll deffo be there on the 14th. Never been to the venue before but I'm sure it will be a good night, it's youth club so they should be serving brews for cheap.

Bummed I missed you guys last time in Brussels but a chance to make up for that.

For various reasons I recently dug out my whole Godmachine discography. It occured to me that Iroha successfully transports some of the same feelings. In my book that huge huge compliment. I really, really like theat album, Andy.

Plus, I'd love to see Iroha cover Godmachine's "Painless".

Glad you like 'em! It's up to Denovali but hopefully quite soon as they are really quick at releasing stuff.

Thanks AD, much appreciated. A 'Painless' cover eh? Might be fun!

We'll have vinyl and CDs available at these shows but, more importantly, if you're coming along come over and say hello. Dom's playing guitar now as well so there will be less laptop triggered samples which should satisfy the traditionalists Wink

Thanks to everybody who came to see us at these shows - we had a blast!

Joeki - I hope you didn't come along to Antwerp as we managed to blow the PA and only managed half of one song Wink

Next up is a four track EP (at the moment on 10" vinyl) on Denovali...

One track was completed a while ago. A second was completed at the same time but, since then, some of the parts Pyramids used on the second one have been used elsewhere (pieces of Mammifer poetry) so we're not really sure when this will get completed. There's a chance that Denovali might put it out as part of a collection of some sort.
