I see a lot of Venetian Snares releases available on torrents.
What are some of his best work? I only know 1 CD.

not really sure what his best moments captured are but you can check out a lot of his stuff over at c8.com.

i heard he uses renoise (and no doubt prob other stuff too..) buts thats serious noise he's making for a music prog based on on of those old trackers..

Some of my favourite releases are:

*The vsnares album on Planet-Mu with the numbers in its title. Very diverse and fun.
*The Glue album of the same year, very hardcore and fun
*The Chocloate Wheelchair album is perhaps his most entertaining record
* The one with the hungarian name is a surprisingly good blend of his signature broken beats and emotional strings
* Doll Doll Doll and Find Candace are a pair of disturbing but wonderfuly savage EPs
* vinnipeg is a frozen shithole Ep is perhaps his most punishing record
* The new one (has words 'dadaist' and 'cavalcade' in the title) is pretty good too...

Also, any of his live acts/ mixes are usually even better than his albums...

Everything Meho said, plus I have a penchant for some of the earlier slightly more standard stuff like Shitfuckers and Salt. Feels good to say Shitfuckers.

Saw him live in 2003, absolutely crazy, the place had the energy of a moshpit. Twisted Evil

I like the Hungarian-titled one the best. Brilliant balance between the string sections and the beats.

Although it's only a fan vid, this is relatively amusing

Mono - Venetian Snares' stuff normally goes under the banner of breakcore. Drillnbass is so last century, as is the man who was often associated with said crap neoligism (Alec Empire) Razz

YEa, drillnbass was the meaningless term for all that stuff, and then some folks in the US decided that IDM was more fitting! If that's not a completely meaningless term then I have no idea what is Wink

As an album, I think Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett (the Hungarian one) works best personally. Nice use of Elgar.

I love Defluxion and Horse and Goat, although the title track off that creeps me out a bit sniggering

awww, you hurt Gray's feeling.. he is in love with Alec Empire, especially on days where Alec wears heavy eye makeup.... Twisted Evil
That's crazy how DHR fell into a black hole so fast... One day, they were the hip underground label to like, and the next day, noone remembered them... They released some good stuff tho.

so to go back to Venetian Snares, i got the 'Rossz Csillag Alatt Szueletett' release, and it's pretty good. Nice mix of electronic sounds (whatever you call them, breakcore, drill n bass, cheeseburger and fries noise...) with more traditional ones...

i think "love" is completely out of the question for either of them at this stage..
they're tipping the scales at about walrus alpha male poundage.
