Wee, I didn't even know they were playing live as TA as late as 2008. Looks like they're enjoying themselves...

Now I look at it, it's the video off the Matador Records website, which should be dated 2001 NOT 2008.

http://www.matadorrecords.com/techno_animal/music.html

Link is broke, but I have the original Quicktime file in a drawer at home somewhere.

Aye, we've had that vid a couple of time before I think, definitely dated way before that like chicken says.

this video is an oldie indeed. it was on the Matador site. They also had a video of the show TA played with the Def Jux crew in NYC on some boat.
That said, TA visually on a video is a bit boring, it's best experienced live...

^^^ This is an absolutely rocking set and everyone should have it. They no longer exist so I don't see why there should be a problem posting it, but I guess its up to the mods.

Which I guess is part of the package Smile

Had a brief listen to the germany show, and though the setlist is pretty much prefect, I do miss a bit more BASS. But cool to hear it anywho!

I have found in my Techno Animal\Live folder the following:
1) a 45:33 MP3 that claims to be from Sonar 2001
2) a folder containing 11 tracks with no info other than "Live 2001" -it's not the same as the Bielefeld one above, as I just checked.
EDIT: just checked "Live 2001" has at least one live MC on it. Could be the boat gig that was videoed?

I will upload for everyone's perusal later when I get a free moment.

Live MC? Sounds awesome! Very Happy

I also had a DJ set they did, mostly playing other peoples tracks. It was really bad quality so I didn't keep it.

I'm not making any claims for these files, I just present them for the curious.
I can't remember where they came from.

Nice!!
Thanks Mr Fish!!

And yeah Def Jux was the headliner for TA's US Tour so they came out at the end and rapped on the last tune when I saw em in LA. I cant remember what the damn setlist was though.

EDIT: Hey whats the date supposed to be on the Germany show?
Is it January 11th or is it November 1st?

Was just reading the old Matador news for TA and they mentioned the tour of Germany and Switzerland was in October/November 2000..

I thought it was supposed to be year.month.day but guess this times its year.day.month

Nice one for the track list, Mono.
I listened to it last night and I think we can all agree it's the Frying Pan, NY gig:

Not good enough

I demand copies of the original tape, re-mastered, re-polished and re-invigorated.

I also demand a shrubbery.
