It's been a dry summer for me, but I have some very special shows coming up:
July-- YOB and then later in the month, the mighty Psychic Paramount
October-- ATP in New Jersey, Saturday night with SWANS, Portishead and Pop Group... Should be fucking epic!
You? |

Lots of great shows here, as expected from the folks on this board.
I'm particularly jealous of UNSANE b/c they're one of my favorites and it's been many years since the stars have aligned for me to see them. |

was that in Boston or NY? did O Paon open? we missed Earth's set when we played a festival with them last month...we left early because we wanted to sleep in our own bed that night...
can't say there's much coming up I'm looking forward to. Saw Lichens recently opening for Explosions in the Sky, which was pretty nice. Explosions was kind of pointless, though. |

Boston. Yes--with O Paon. That is an impressive young lady. Not only did I enjoy her set, but turns out she is a top-notch illustrator. The tone of her voice reminded me of Cat Power and the vocal loops she was doing were pretty mesmerizing.
Also, she was pretty funny about the hockey game going on--the Boston Bruins were playing for the cup--as a minority of the attendees (but sizeable group) were watching the game during her set. She said something along the lines of "this reminds me so much of growing up in Canada--a bunch of people trying to watch the hockey game over there, while i'm over hear trying to do something else" Ha.
I will add that drunk Boston sports fan on the subway suck.
If anyone here is a drunk Boston sports fan that has taken the subway, you suck. |

Missed the secret Sleep show here in Oakland on Sunday. Was thinking about heading to LA to see them with a buddy, but that probably won't happen (that's the problem with having stoners as fans).
Only show right on the books right now is Torche/Big Business/Thrones.
I wish Bongripper would make their way out here.
Also hoping for shows from Sonoio and Black Math Horseman. |

last 2 shows i saw were Godspeed YBE and Salem. Had a good time at both. I wanted to go to Earth but something came up. I have nothing planned this summer outside of Death From Above1979. It's been a pretty lame year around here so far. |

The rest of the year looks quiet for me, but the spring was good, including Napalm Death, Devin Townsend and SWANS.... |

Paris in a venue called La Machine.
A good place: not too big, not too small. I already saw Isis, Dalek, Jesu, Scorn, Front 242, ... and each time it rocked! |

Been a good year for gigs - I've actually made it to two!
Skullflower / Werewolf Jerusalem in April - only saw the last 10 minutes of SF, but what a 10 minutes it was. WJ only played for about 15 mins as well, but I did score a cheap copy of "The Paris Working".
The Fall / Scumbag Philosopher a couple of weeks ago - proper sweaty and loud, great gig.
For the future: there were rumours of a Shit and Shine / Gnod gig in July but it's been cancelled and I am considering Damnation too. |

I was quite underwhelmed by Morgoth, to be honest. What I always liked about them was the voice and he sounded more like a hardcore shouter at Rock Hard. I left after 20min. Allthough a few of my mates found it significantly better than I did. |

Just Swans so far this year and no sign of anything coming up. Can't complain though, I always knew there would be gig sacrifice involved in moving to Australia. |
