haha. did you get the diehard? it looked cool. i dont have my record player with me so i dont buy vinyl now, but i am honestly thankful for the break.
there are two version of terrorizer right now i guess. oscar has a version called "terrorizer LA" and they do the first album front to back. they recently came through my town but when i found out sandoval wasn't playing i passed. my friend said they are really good, but i am over punk/hc/metal bands with just the singer and a bunch of scabs who didn't write the music. not to piss on anyone who wants to see it, but i am just burned on that shit. if pete had been playing i would def have gone though. there is another guy from nausea and two guys from sadistic intent, who i believe play with the singer of possessed as his "backing band." there is also some scrapped together version of terrorizer pete has going with someone from monstrosity, but i don't think they play live. i could be wrong, but i think pete did a short live set with oscar's version when they first got back together after being asked to do so by jesse's sister for what was his 45th bday. not sure if oscar and pete have beef or if century media owns the rights to terrorizer. anyway, when jesse got the band back together i had high hopes but i believe they never played live as jesse was sick and he died right when the album came out, it might have even been the same week. when i heard that album, i was pretty bummed all around. |
no die-hard for me unfortunately. it's terrorizer LA coming, i know what you mean about the fragments of bands but never having had the chance to (hopefully) hear these songs blasted out properly before i take it as it comes. same with seeing that Possessed version there last year, loved it, but now its done quite satisfied. not like i don't support new bands too! |

i definitely see what you mean. considering you are in europe, i would def go if they came to town as it might be your only chance. i can probably catch them again.
i guess i take it on a case by case basis. my one rule is that if i am going to shell out more than 15 or 20 bucks i need at least one guy who actually wrote the music playing the songs. seeing the current incarnation of the mags was fun the first couple of times, but just having the drummer and singer is kind of whack when you think that harley and parris wrote the music and are not up there playing it. i'd probably feel the same way about ENT if they came through again considering it is down to one singer who bails all the time. i don't know if you are into hc, but i have seen too many reunions bands with patched together "i was in the band for the 89 tour but not the album" line ups and as of now i have had my fill. i feel that way about morbid angel now too since they don't have pete playing, so i guess i am just kind of picky. |

I do like HC and we've probably seen too much of ENT over recent years, before and after phil dying, definitely worn thin in recent times :/ |

i was lucky to catch them on what i think might have been their last full us tour in 2009 or so. phil was the only vocalist as dean had broken his wrist skateboarding or something in L.A., but my friend was doing a lot of the back ups and passing the mic around. they were great, but yeah i would say it is time to hang it up. |

Just diging around on Bandcamp, which I like to do, and I came across this musician.
http://music.lukehoward.com/
Not my normal cup of tea, but just amazing nonetheless. Very melodic, soothing, relaxing. I usually listen to a lot of heavier stuff, but this is something really nice.
Hope someone here enjoys it. |

I did have a listen late at night, and it was OK but a little bit 'trad' for my ears. |

So I was listening to Brand X jazz-fusioning my lug holes.
Then I stumbled upon a recording of Conan at Hellfest so that got rammed rpetty damn quick (excellent).
On the same video site I found a bunch of Godflesh, so I decided to risk this VHS recording of a show from 1992.
And then Robert Hampson.
So, I went back to Brand X.
RH in Loop. Thank you, yes.
RH in Godflesh. Thank you, NAW! |
