Jesu/Sun Kil Moon - S/T [meh]
Savages - Adore Life [pretty good, not a huge jump tho]
Saul Williams - MartyrLoserKing [this is my favorite ATM]
Conrad Keely - Original Machines [toned down, less bombastic than ToD]
Massive Attack - Ritual Spirit EP [middle of the road]
Ulver - ATGCLVLSSCAP [pretty good, mostly ambient, a touch long tho]

I found this lot through my interest in Theologian, people who are into Hyatari might want to check this out.

I've never been a fan of Julie Christmas, I thought Battle of Mice was utter pish and that other band she was in fucking sucked as well, horribly, horribly bad music.

This new Cult Of Luna record on which she is a collaborator though is really fucking good. I like CoL a lot and I will not argue with anyone who says that this record does nothing new and sounds very, very similar to the previous records Vertikal and V.II ... but, when I compare to "other post-metal bands" who put out the same synchronised head-nodding music, album after album for years, I think they pale significantly when compared to Cut of Luna.

Funny for a band that is regularly written-off as Isis copyists.

recent:

Kerridge - Fatal Light Attraction
Dalhous - The Composite Moods Collection Vol.1: House Number 44
Nadja - Sv
Bob Mould - Patch the Sky
Mogwai - Atomic
Dalek - Asphalt For Eden
Deftones - Gore
Cult of Luna & Julie Christmas - Mariner
PJ Harvey - Hope Six Demolition Project
John Carpenter - Lost Themes II

As a note re: Cult of Luna/Julie Xmas - It's NOT as good as Battle of Mice, as it's a bit too much 'the same' post-rock sound. It is better than her solo record or the last Made out of Babies. It likely won't make my 'year end' but it's pleasant enough.

Two new stoner discoverings:

KREMLIN
Cool and warm stoner/ space rock from Finland.
The music has a good atmosphere and some great vocals!
